Second Person was formed in early 2002 and comprises singer/pianist Julia Johnson, producer/bassist Mark Maclaine and drummer Alvaro Lopez. This band brings together elements of Hip-Hop, Jazz, Trip-Hop and Electronica fusing them with strong songwriting to form a unique sound that is Post Trip-Hop. Described as "The next big thing" by The Independent, this English three-piece contrast beautiful vocals with dark basslines, sublime piano riffs and powerful beats. Their emotive song writing style, killer hooks and distinctly lo-fi sound has lent itself perfectly to visual media and their music credits include three complete feature film scores as well as work for numerous international broadcasters and film companies. Second Person are as good live as they are recorded, capturing the beauty and emotion of their songs, although not losing the complex sound-scapes and space that have defined their sound.
