Description
I graduated from college in 2003, started teaching in 2004.At the end of the school year I was indicted for a crime of embezzlement that I had committed in 1999 when I was only a sophomore in college. I was taken from my classroomas a teacher to a prisoner in a nc correctional facility. My life has been a downward spiral since then. I can no longer teach in the state of NC, I am disqualified from receiving licensure to teach and its VERY difficult to find a job once you've been incarcerated. I made a mistake by committing that crime, but I am not a common criminal. I am a well-educated, black woman who made a mistake. I believe in God and I will not allow all the doors that slam in my face to dictate the rest of my future. I will win. I must win. I must be resilient. I want to move out of the state of NC and start my own business elsewhere. I currently work for a company who I allow to exploit my talents and skills for $5.00 per hour full-time because they know its super hard for me to find another decent 9-5. I need monetary assistance to help fund my dream of starting my own tutoring company where I will teach English Grammar and English as a second language. I am so sorry for my mistake in 1999. Bad judgement on my part, but I have paid my debt to society and I want a new life. Money is scarce. Holidays are here and instead of falling victim to the circle of trouble and committing to a life of crime because I am discouraged, I would rather cry out for help...to those who might be in a position where they can help somebody who is sincerely trying to make it.
