Centre Manager (Part-time – 17 ½ hrs) Salary £24,545 (Pro rata)
The Kurdish Children & Youth Centre, winner of the National Excellence Award in 2008, delivers services to Kurdish children and families, in order to support them to achieve better outcomes, enabling them to stay safe, be healthy, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic wellbeing. The project currently targets children and young people at risk of under achieving and social exclusion.
This challenging role requires a passion for supporting the educational achievement of children and young people. Being fluent in English, both in reading and writing, you will have knowledge of the English Education System and related issues facing children and young people of refugees and asylum seekers. A worth mentioning track record in fundraising and project management and also strong presentation, communication and organizational skills is highly required. You will have significant abilities in negotiation and networking across mainstream services, local authorities and also the third sector. As a manager you should have the ability to think strategically and to work both independently and in a team. You will manage a team of volunteers.
