You have to meet the criteria to qualify for a free course.
Level 2
This qualification is based on the National Occupational Standards (NOS) developed by TOPSS UK and Skills for Health. It includes social care and health units relating to both categories. The qualification helps learners understand the changing face of both areas and enables them to meet the standards needed to work in health and social care. The NVQ can also be used as an aid to occupational development.
Embedded within the units to be achieved are the essential Codes of Practice for working in the health and social care sector, and modern and innovative approaches to good practice.
Why Should I Take this NVQ?
This NVQ is appropriate for learners working in a variety of occupations within health or social care. Regulations state that 50% of those working in residential care are required to be qualified at NVQ level 2 in order to meet National Minimum Standards.
Learners should ideally be employed in the public, private or voluntary sector across the whole spectrum of residential, hospital, day care, foster care or domiciliary settings.
What Do I Need to Do?
The choice of units depends on the nature of your job role:
• Social Care learners MUST complete all four mandatory units plus two optional units.
• Health Sector learners complete two mandatory units and two drawn from either mandatory or optional ones.
