There are a number of voluntary opportunities on the Idiopathic Calcinosis Research Management Committee Board for keen community minded people who want to be part of an exciting new charity beginning in April/May 2009.
Idiopathic Calcinosis Research is a new charity that will be involved, but not limited, in a wide range of support and education services, and research for those who are affected by Idiopathic Calcinosis/Calcification in the skin.
In addition to raising funds for research on this rare condition, ICR will promote awareness information, and provide support and advisory services to the general public.
As part of the Management Committee Board you will gain valuable experience in a wide range of areas, advanced knowledge of Idiopathic Calcinosis, be part of a new exciting charity, access to the latest research, help with developing and providing information to the general public, great prospects for personal development and CV enhancement, and much more.
The roles we have available are: Secretary, Events Manager, Enquiries Officer, Chairperson, Treasurer, 2x Health Advisor/Information Specialist (someone with sound knowledge of Idiopathic Calcinosis), Public Relations Person.
NB: Some of these positions, but not all, will require you to have a formal qualification in either health related studies or related to the role you are applying for. Students may apply. Even if you think they are outside your scope please do still send us an email and we will be sure to find something to fit around your skills and experiences.
The minimum commitment on the Management Board is that you attend at least 3 meetings yearly at an Edinburgh location, which will be set to your convenient needs (i.e. if you can’t attend a meeting during the week we will arrange meetings at the weekend). And contribute to some hours (at your convenience), approx. 10-15hrs each month, out with these meetings – this is negotiable.
