THERE ARE NO ROOMS TO RENT IN THIS STREET. DO NOT SEND A COPY OF YOUR PASSPORT.
The scammer pretends to be the owner and will ask you to pay rent and/or a deposit. He may even send you a copy of "her passport" purporting to be genuine. The copy of the passport belongs to another poor person who has been conned into sending it to the scammer.
Payment is either via Western Union or to a bank account which is in a false name.
Over 70 people have lost their money this way. They are left with nowhere to stay.
Police are investigating this scam.
ONLY DEAL WITH A RECOGNISED ESTATE AGENT IF YOU ARE TRYING TO RENT A ROOM IN THIS STREET. BEWARE OF CHEAP DEALS IN THIS AREA. THEY ARE SIMPLY DESIGNED TO TEMPT YOU TO PAY MONEY TO THE SCAMMER.
