Field Interviewers
The Field Interviewers are responsible for carrying out face-to-face interviews and collecting data for all projects in the field.
Responsibilities include:
• Recognising specific project quotas and targeting individuals that conform to those criteria
• Approaching the relevant individuals and achieving respondent participation for an interview (where necessary offering incentives)
• Reading through the questionnaire script, and in the case of hard-copy questionnaires, paying attention to respondent replies and questionnaire instructions to ensure routing is carried out and the relevant questions are asked
• Collecting data by accurate and legible recording of respondent replies onto questionnaires, or operating technological aides such as PDAs and XDAs to record data
• Where necessary, holding up show cards or operating PDAs or XDAs to show A/V clips
• Achieve target quota
• Ensure all materials and questionnaires/PDAs/XDAs are returned to headquarters on-time and safely
You will have an excellent interview manner and should have previous interviewing experience. Good skills in the following areas are crucial:
o verbal
o communication
o written
You should possess the ability to achieve targets, the ability to work under pressure, pay close attention to detail and be flexible. The position would suit someone assertive, self-confident, with a pleasant personality, who has initiative and requires minimal supervision.
