Job Description:
Provide and/or manage the delivery of general HR services within Affymetrix, UK LTD. Duties will include: employee relations, compensation program implementation, performance management, management development, staffing and organizational effectiveness improvement. Key focus will be on creating and implementing customer-responsive HR services throughout UK and Europe.
Provide leadership in developing and implementing human resources projects within the organization and across the organization for corporate initiatives. The HR Manager will work with managers and employees to address all types of employee relations issues. Provides first level interventions and coaching to managers and employees - problem identification, potential solutions, and investigation.
Requires the ability to work in partnership; to coach; to create win-win solutions; to create process improvements, which enhance local HR offerings. Ability to lead and drive a corporate-wide project. Must have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
•Reports to Corporate HR Director based in USA with dotted line to Site Manager in Europe
•Member of Senior Management Team for European Business Unit
•Based in office at Wooburn Green with some European travel
Essential Skills:
•Preferred experience working within a high-technology company is desirable.
•Degree level or equivalent in related field
•5 - 10 years of related experience encompassing multiple HR disciplines, including compensation, organizational development, training, benefits and staffing.
•Thorough employee relations experience required including complaint investigation and resolution.
•Requires excellent communication, influence, conflict resolution, coaching/counseling and project management skills.
•Significant pan-European employment legislative/good practice experience
•Experience of the Health & Safety function
•Ideally have a foreign language (French or German)
•CIPD desirable
•Previous experience supporting a sales/support organization desirable
•Previous sight HR experience preferred
