Job Description:
• Work at top levels within Global Key Accounts such as GSK, Pfizer, BMS, AZ, Aventis, Novartis, Bayer, Merck, J&J, Roche, DeCode, Sanofi, Serono, Altana etc., to move the technology and resources across departments to secure business for Affymetrix
• Demonstrate depth of knowledge & understanding of :
• therapeutic, drug development and clinical areas within Global Accounts
• European Pharmaceutical Industry
• Facilitate and coordinate with European and Americas Sales and Legal teams the annual global contracts strategies
• Present quarterly on global progress at senior management meetings
• Align resources to develop technical opportunities into commercial opportunities
• Work closely with European and Americas Sales Management and Sales reps to develop tactics/programme and team-sell
• Facilitate global forecasting calls to develop consistent chip forecasting methodology
• Facilitate the global key account plan documents for viewing by management through Maximizer
• Work with sales and marketing teams to assess and develop tactics for penetration of global accounts with high throughput automation platforms
• Work with Business Development to source business development opportunities
• Interface with senior management to bring all resources needed
• Work with Affymetrix Marketing to ensure effective selling tools, feedback and product/market fit.
• Provide general intelligence on key competitors
• Work with Affymetrix customer support, technical support, legal department and scientific liaison to secure customers satisfaction

• Experience in working directly with Americas (e.g. part of a global team, working/communicating at times when local office shuts and US starts)
• Ability to work and influence cross functional roles
• Proven sales skills, including prospecting, negotiating, listening and closing
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
• BS degree in Biological Science with genetics/genomics background
• 5+ years of experience in field sales with ability to demonstrate development of teams
• 5-10 years proven sales experience in life science relating to pharmaceutical discovery or development as well as key account management experience
