An opportunity exists for an experienced engineer within the Ice and Rain Protection Group.
The role will involve operating as a Designated Certification Specialist (DCS) for some Airbus products within the area of Ice and Rain Protection. In addition it is expected that the candidate will act as a technical specialist, advising product design and build team leaders on technical matters.
The role of DCS involves providing technical and certification expertise to the design teams and also in support of the Chief Airworthiness Engineer teams and/or Office of Airworthiness. The DCS acts as the Certification interface with the design specialists and manages the detailed compliance demonstration work. The DCS is a principal link with the Airworthiness Authority Specialist.
Requirements
The candidate will have a background of Ice and Rain Protection system design and certification within the aerospace industry. Ideally the candidate will be qualified to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
A technical knowledge and experience of pneumatic and thermal systems and pneumatic system design is essential. The applicant must be versed in the process of equipment qualification and approval. He/she must have a sound understanding of safety engineering. Knowledge of the aircraft-icing environment is essential, and understanding of the physics of icing and ice accretion analysis is desirable. Knowledge of ATA chapter 30 requirements and procedures is preferred. A desire to develop skills in the areas of electrical system design, installation and control would be advantageous.
The candidate will have excellent interpersonal and team working skills, and will have experience of representing his/her organisation to external bodies at a senior level.
The candidate will be expected to be able to demonstrate effective time management, project management and will have a track record of working proactively. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate an enthusiastic and energetic attitude. Experience and knowledge of cross-cultural working would be advantageous
