Technically the fastest 4 seat BMW ever built (everything else has been limited to 155mph) and an absolute thrill to drive. A comfortable and reliable daily driver or a weekend supercoupe GT, or both.
Polaris silver with absolutely no rust or dents anywhere – new BMW front wings and all the classic rust areas have been replaced with new BMW panels over the last few years. Mud traps kept clean and car kept garaged.
This is the lighter non-highline version with a very strong engine – fastidiously maintained, timing chain, guides and tensioner updated with head refurbishment by Munich Legends (valve springs, shims etc), a perfect recent compression test, no cam or other wear - good for another decade. Over the last few years it has had brand new gearbox , air mass meter, pulse generators, fuel and brake lines and more other original new BMW parts than I can list. Huge folder of receipts and bills comes with the car.
Bodywork is very good, not quite concourse but no scratches or dents and absolutely NO RUST anywhere above or below – arches and the usual mud traps regularly cleaned and wax-oiled. All the electrics are in perfect order.
Interior is good, 80’s dog tooth black grey fabric, slight wear to drivers seat – has the lighter manual seats (so no electrics to go wrong) includes 6CD changer and modern head unit. Boot interior in good condition with full original carpet set including battery cover – full BMW tool set in undamaged dropdown case. No air con (needs a replacement compressor clutch which I have S/H in a box but I’ve just not got round to fitting it, will also probably need a condenser and gas by now if you really wanted to get it working).
Currently sat on contemporary 18inch BMW Style 32 wheels for better grip with Dunlop SP Sport 9000- 265/35 at the back and 235/40. Perfect wheels, just refurbished, as new with no kerbing at all, lots off tread left on tyres – also have the full set of the original TRX alloys (BMW Style 5) fitted with Dunlop TRX metric tyres all also with very good tread.
Huge folder of receipts and bills. A copy of the full BMW M6 workshop manual and service reset tool come with car, still have the original wheels shod with Michelin TRX’s, spare air-con compressor with clutch and various other spare bits if you want them.
Very reluctant to sell this thrilling car but garage space needed for E9 CSI project.
