VOLUNTEERING POSITION NOW OPEN

INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT-ICENECDEV

A non governmental and non profit organization addressing contemporary environmental issues through networking, advocacy and capacity building.

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION FOR VOLUNTEERS:
• program officer,
• communication officer,
• Trainer/Teacher,
• An environmentalist.

Number of volunteers: 1-10

PURPOSE:
• Ensure programs are developed and implemented to fulfil the mission of the organization.
• Promote a proper image of the organization (ICENECDEV) at the local, national and international scenes.

RESPOSIBILITIES/TASK:
• Prepare meetings agenda in advancement with the secretary.
• Be in contact with other community organizations or groups.
• Train leaders of other groups or organization on environmental education.
• Ensure a good volunteer management program is in effect.
• Ensure effective liaison between communities, national and international organization.
• Ensure grassroots opinions are expressed through advocacy and networking(information sharing)
• Organize at least one workshop, conference or seminar on environmental issues.
• Collect information and update website.
• Ensure the evaluation and reporting of activities.

QUALIFICATION:
• Interest in people
• Ability to communicate fluently in English and French or only in English.
• Ability to run meetings, conference, seminars or workshops.
• Ability to delegate responsibility.
• Plan effective programs.
• Ability to collect data /information on the field.

RELATIONSHIP:
Communicate effectively with local and national representatives of government, business organizations and schools.

TIME COMMITED:
• 1month-3months
• Attend monthly meetings.

REQUIREMENT FOR VOLUNTEERS

The following requirements or conditions should be fulfilled by the volunteers to be recruited in ICENECDEV;
• Be of good health state,
• Be above the age of 21 except need
• Be able to take charge for their transportation, feeding and lodging,
• Be able to carry fundraising for the organization (ICENECDEV).
