Job Overview
The Southampton office is growing rapidly having won significant new work. We are looking for a high-calibre newly qualified Audit Senior to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding assurance team. The position offered provides an ideal opportunity for a newly qualified chartered accountant, or someone with some PQE to gain experience on some challenging new client assignments, and support the manager and partner team in other business development activities.
You will take responsibility for the audit process for a range of entrepreneurial growth businesses including some listed. Clients range from family businesses to larger businesses in a wide range of sectors including retail, manufacturing and service industries. US referred work is also undertaken in the office.
You will have the opportunity to work with other professional groups in the office including tax and corporate finance, and the opportunity to work on corporate finance transactions will be available.
You will be self-motivated, able to work to tight deadlines, have excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills together with an ability and interest in understanding your clients’ business.
You will be able to:
- Handle all aspects of running and delivering client audit projects, whist supervised by manager / partner
- Identify risk matters and selling opportunities, bring these to partner and manager attention, while exercising judgement within agreed parameters
- Control cost budgets, meet reporting timetables, and prepare key client reporting documents
- Ensure professional standards are met and supervise and develop more junior staff
- Develop professional relationships with clients and within the firm
- Attend to self-development and continuing professional education with a view to progressing in practice
