Responsibilities At the heart of this exciting role is the development & delivery of new products, capabilities and services within the Lending, SBS, and baseline Charge product line of the EMEA ICSS business (approximate split: Lending: 40%, SBS: 20%, Charge: 40%). Working with business partners across functions (e.g., Technologies, Operations, Risk, Marketing) on a local, regional and international basis. Co-responsible for setting the strategy (together with International and local markets) and accountable for high-quality and on time & budget project implementation.
Key responsibilities:-
• Lead the planning, development and delivery of new products/capabilities/services from concept through to delivery for Lending, SBS, and baseline Charge product lines (strategy: 20%, execution: 80%)
• Influence / align with business partners (e.g., markets, International) on key priorities, projects and scope
• Be a key member of the PD leadership team and in this role input into and prioritize planning, funding, scheduling and resourcing for all European projects
• Manage, support & develop several (exact # TBD) seasoned & high-performing direct reports
• Manage Opex and Project Budgets
• Support markets/International in developing/sizing new partner deals or product concepts
• Present key strategies and projects to senior leaders across the Blue Box and obtain buy-in
• Be a key member of the Regional Marketing team and as such, lead by example, contribute to Employee Satisfaction, align / cooperate with colleagues on broader projects (incl. acquisition, loyalty, MR, etc.)
Required Qualifications • History of delivering solid results (impacting the bottom line)
• Substantial experience in product/business development and implementation
• Sound strategic thinking skills
• Expertise in Lending and SBS or Consumer Charge
• Good understanding of Amex organisation, consumer platforms and processes
• Profound knowledge of payment card industry/dynamics
• 5-10 years consumer marketing experience
• Effective at working in Matrix organisation (esp. at influencing without direct control)
• Sound people management skills (e.g., human approach)
• Financial acumen
• High level of motivation and energy
• Effective with dealing with change and ambiguity
• Positive attitude & sense of humor
