A secretary is required, for a 6 month period, for the busy and expanding civil and structural engineering department in Cardiff.
Although this position is initially on a temporary basis, there is the possibility of a permanent vacancy if the team continues to grow.
Responsibilities
Main duties will include:
Providing full secretarial support to the civil and structural engineering team.
Providing cover and support to other administrative staff
Diary management, office co-ordination, dealing with mail, answering telephone enquiries, taking messages and composing correspondence
Management of filing system and archiving
Assisting with the copying and binding of reports
Arranging meetings and producing accurate minutes
Making travel and accommodation arrangements
Liaising with internal and external suppliers
Carrying out other relevant duties as required.

Requirements
have some secretarial or office experience, minimum 6 months
have a good level of competence in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
have at least 5 GCSE/’O’ Levels (or equivalent), including English
be able to use initiative and work without supervision
be able to manage a varied workload and decide priorities
be an enthusiastic worker, keen to learn and with good interpersonal skills
work effectively under pressure.
