Description
To provide credible medical scientific input in the development and delivery of innovative Discovery Medicine plans for new candidate drugs progressing from Discovery into Early Development, allowing effective and timely decision making.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
To provide medical scientific input to develop and maintain, with Discovery translational scientists, Discovery Medicine plans for new candidate drugs progressing from Discovery into Early Development.
To provide medical scientific input into pre-clinical and early clinical projects within the Respiratory & Inflammation Therapeutic Area particularly with respect to the biological mechanisms underlying pathophysiology.
Design and execute studies to assess these biological mechanisms in man to validate drug targets, create novel segmentations of syndromally diagnosed diseases, and detect drug actions (biomarkers).
To develop novel methodologies and biomarker strategies that allow for rapid, cost-effective decision-making regarding the progress of nominated compounds.
To provide medical scientific input in the interpretation and reporting of results arising from Discovery Medicine plans.
Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience
Minimum Requirements - Education and Experience
Fully qualified and registered physician.
Research qualification and strong clinical research record.
Preferred Background
Clinical experience in Respiratory or Inflammation Therapy Areas.
Minimum of 2 years industry experience.
Possession of a higher medical qualification.
