Responsibilities
To partner with the European Commercial business management team in order to deliver the financial targets set for the year, and to provide insightful analysis and interpretation of key European financial data in a timely proactive manner.
(Financial data includes customer and product profitability, pricing information and market information.)
Be the key influencer in developing & nurturing the commercial relationships between the Commercial Directors and the Financial Analysts across the six European regions, in order to enhance the flow of key financial information & improve business decision making at a local level and at Head Office.
To drive stretching European business plans for Medical Diagnostics Europe to ensure the optimum result for the group as a whole by:
- providing the strategic input & influencing key players;
- advising on potential areas of growth and risk;
- recommending and contributing to the development of planning components across the six regions of Europe (consisting of 29 countries).
To serve as an integral member of the European X-Functional management team chaired by the VP and General Manager of MD Europe. (This group includes the VP's of Marketing, Sales, HR, IM, Logistics and Medical and Professional Services amongst others.)
Provide insightful investment appraisals through commercial awareness and astute analysis of risks and opportunities thus influencing the business partners to act in the best interests of the business.
Advise the VP of Sales for MDE in contract negotiations with external parties, eg the provision of a Pan European external sales force.
Lead the consolidation process of financial results across Europe and be accountable for these.
To anticipate, monitor, review and present financial issues to the Vice Presidents of both the Financial and Commercial Functions.
Qualifications
Qualified accountant with a minimum of 8 years PQE in relevant field.
Highly commercially astute, ideally with relevant experience in a Pan-European organisation.
Ability to operate as a key influencer at a strategic decision making level.
Possessing the personal drive and commitment to implement innovative solutions.
A self-starter able to work on own initiative, resolve complex financial issues in an environment of demanding deadlines and pressure.
Ability to adapt own styles in influencing and leadership to all levels in the organisation
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, along with extensive experience of presenting to senior audiences.
Possessing the gravitas and natural presence that engenders trust and confidence at an executive level.
Frequent overseas travel a requirement.
A second European language is advantageous.
