Job Description:
Responsibilities
Key Result Areas:
*Ensure maximum database system uptime to the business
*Manage the current & future database hardware platforms
*Assist with DBA project server related work, testing & developing new ideas\techniques & bringing them into production
*Liaise with database manger as to planned maintenance and upgrades resulting in downtime
*Implement upgrades of software and migration of existing data and databases thorough such upgrades
*Implement transfer of existing data and databases to new or replacement servers
*Assist the Server Team to maintain servers and infrastructure with the use of all tools available
*Update systems where appropriate and help maintain a record of system issues
*Backup Maintenance
*Participate in the development of disaster recovery plans for business critical systems
*To support and communicate with 3rd party companies
*Coordinate all Change Management requests ensuring requests are dealt within the agreed SLA
Key Performance Indicators:
*Server and infrastructure reliability and performance achieved
*Database performance and uptime meet expected standards
*Regular maintenance is performed
*Projects are delivered on time and to specification
*Compliance with policies, standards and guidelines
*Disaster recovery plans developed, tested and up to date
*Achievement of goals
*Speed and effectiveness of problem resolution
Qualifications
Skills & Experience:
*3-5 years technical experience
*Familiarity with operating system hardware, application technologies, and networks
*Technical knowledge to include: Windows Server 2xSQL Server \Oracle SANMS OLAP Data Transformation Services
*Ability to work well in a team environment
*Excellent communication skills
*Proven ability to participate and manage a broad variety of projects
*Appreciation of security principles
