Whitney Elizabeth Houston (born August 9, 1963) is an American recording artist, actress, and former fashion model. A relative to several prominent soul singers, including her mother Cissy Houston, cousins Dee Dee and Dionne Warwick, and godmother Aretha Franklin, Houston began singing at her New Jersey church as a member of a junior gospel choir at age eleven.
Houston has sold over 140million albums in her 25 year recording career as well as having numerous chart-toppers with songs like I Wanna Dance With Somebody and I Will Always Love You.
Pop superstar Whitney Houston has announced details of the UK leg of her eagerly anticipated European tour, her first major tour in more than 11 years.
The UK tour kicks off on April 8th in Manchester, then calls on Glasgow, Birmingham and Newcastle, before closing on April 25th at London's O2 Arena.
