With a role here you’ll be helping to shape our customers’ retail experience and drive our business to greater success. The Merchandise department source the products we stock and ensure the customer gets what they want at a good value price. Further to an internal promotion, there now exists an exciting opportunity within Homewares and Furniture for a dynamic, forward thinking Merchandise Planner who wants to make a difference. The main objective of this role is to assist the Trading Manager and Buying Teams in delivering sales and profit targets through effective management of supplier and depot availability. Key areas of accountability are managing weekly stock performance, planning ranges for future catalogues, liaising with the Direct Import team, ordering domestic product, working closely with Internal Stock Control to ensure store serviceability is met and managing and developing your team. In particular though, we are looking for an individual who can balance the day job with a strong vision of how we best manage through the period of change and challenge that is coming through RACO, taking on Extra ownership and the increasing challenges around a high DI/DS participation.
Your in-depth knowledge of planning and trading in multi-channel retailing will come to the fore in this role. You’ll be using your strong interpersonal skills when communicating with senior managers and running a team.
