Argos’ Retail Division is the public face of our business, the front line of our activities. The Role
The key to this newly created role is your ability and willingness to take personal responsibility for the entire customer “journey” through the store. That doesn’t just mean providing excellent hands-on customer service and ensuring that your colleagues do the same. It also means paying constant attention to the flow of customers and their experience of the store – keeping queues short by opening extra check-outs when needed, keeping customers informed of other services, listening to their feedback and suggesting improvements to the store manager. Seizing every opportunity to improve your own skills and knowledge - and to build on the efficiency and profitability of the business - you’ll be looking at everything from communication between the shop floor and behind the scenes, to implementing successful promotions and, of course, supporting the management team in recruiting team members.
The Person
You will be the public “face” of your store so it is essential that you have a real flair for customer service. You will have at least 12 months retail experience and be committed to boosting sales through added value. Working as a team leader or similar has proven your potential and developed your people management skills. You are the kind of person who enjoys moulding a team into a highly efficient, customer-focused unit. You are logical, passionate and determined in your approach, and are not afraid to challenge accepted practices. You will bring authority and creative flair for sales and leadership to this crucial role.
