SENIOR CONSULTANT - BUSINESS OBJECTS

JOB PURPOSE
The role of the Senior Consultant is the implementation and deployment / integration of Business Objects solutions. The Senior Consultant’s II role includes:
• Performing the analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of Business Objects based solutions
• Assisting in defining the scope of a project, or phase of a project, utilizing qualitative criteria, technical and business specifications
• Participating in and drive pre sales activities, SOW creation and estimating under minimal guidance from a Project/Program Manager
• Assisting in finding and closing business opportunities at existing customers, including expanding opportunities at existing client engagements
• Leading the team(s) they are assigned to, in either a functional or technical capacity, adding value to the project and to the final deliverables
• Under the direction of a Project/Program Manager, demonstrating the ability to plan, run, and manage meetings with internal and external clients
• Providing a creative source of ideas/solutions to address problems
• Enhancing individual, team and client knowledge of Business Intelligence projects
• Delivering billable components that meets a customer’s needs as measured by the individual client surveys

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:
• 4+ years of enterprise application software implementation experience or equivalent experience on case by case basis
• Completely familiar with the general requirements and issues associated with building BI solutions
• Bachelors Degree in a scientific or a technical field.
• Basic understanding of service proposal development

Technical skills:
• Up to date Knowledge of Business Objects core products to a very high standard
• At least one subject matter expertise e.g Business Objects Analytics
• An understanding of ETL processes and at least one tool e.g. Data Integrator, Informatica
• Development skills in a web or client/server development environment with mastery of some or all of Java / VB programming languages
• Solid level knowledge of servers operating systems (Windows and UNIX, Solaris, AIX and/or HPUX)
• Mid-level database design expertise in major Relational Data Management Systems (e.g. oracle, SQL Server, DB2)
• Good knowledge of web technologies (HTML, XML), application server environments (ASP, JSP, JAVA, .Net) and web servers (IIS, Apache)
• Subject matter expertise in relevant horizontal or vertical focus areas, such as Supply Chain, Extranets, security, financial services, Retail, etc.
