Description
We are looking for a very special person to join an established and cohesive team working with children and young people with an acquired brain injury.
You will be experienced in working in a care / health environment preparing meals for service users. You will work to a high standard of hygiene and understand the importance of nutrition and presentation of food. Experience of preparing food for children and young people would be advantageous. City & Guilds Cooking for the Catering Industry is desirable.
You should enjoy working in a team whilst having the ability to work individually. The ability to prioritise work is essential and knowledge of stock rotation, working to budget and the ordering of provisions is essential. IT skills will be useful.
An appreciation of differing dietary needs and cultural requirements will be helpful. The support of a dietician (paediatric) will be available to you and it is essential that you are able to work in conjunction with other professionals / therapists involved in the rehabilitation of the young people.
In return we offer excellent induction training, on-going training opportunities, regular supervision by the line manager and a degree of autonomy within the role.
We anticipate the hours of work will be 9.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday. Flexibility within these times can be discussed with the successful candidate.
