HEAD OF EMERGENCY PLANNING SEL SECTOR - NHS

Job Summary:

1. Lead on the development and implementation of policies, procedures and practices that determine emergency planning priorities for NHS South East London (SEL) sector.

2. Make sure that the SEL SHA, lead PCT (Lambeth PCT) and other NHS SEL organisations:

i) meet the obligations set out in the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and its associated regulations and guidance.

ii) comply with other statutory and corporate emergency planning responsibilities.

iii) have due regard for good practice and statutory guidance in their approach to resilience and emergency preparedness.

3. Provide specialist advice and guidance to the SEL SHA duty Director, NHS London duty Director (SEL representative) and sector control room team in the event of a London or sector major incident alert/activation.

4. Act as the sector lead for emergency preparedness interaction with the Health Protection Agency.
