Description
Purpose of Role:
To provide and maintain a highly effective and efficient security and car parking service to patients, staff and visitors of the Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. To maintain the standards and quality of service that ensure a secure and safe environment for patients, public and employees.
Key Role Objectives:
To ensure and record the regular patrols within the hospital building structure using a barcode scanner
To attend security incidents/breach of security and provide verbal/written initial reports/statements
To maintain an alert and diligent team to any security risk, and alert staff to any such risk, advising staff on appropriate action required for security incidents.
To be responsible for ensuring that all access points to the hospital are secured in accordance with the Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust
To respond immediately to all alarms activated by any security or warning system, or any request for assistance within the Hospital. At all times the site of any alarm should attended within the agreed times.
To respond to all security requests within the building, ascertain any given situation and deal with accordingly. Use discretion to decide whether an incident requires the intervention of the Police and, in such circumstances, call the Police immediately
Provide a full service for the car parking service ensuring a courteous and informative Manner with its users
To ensure the production of written security reports on a shift basis
To protect the confidentiality of information relating to the Trust, patients, staff or any other internal agencies
To attend all training courses as directed by Carillion Services Limited Undergo vehicle immobilisation training and receive an SIA licence for the Trust.
Supervise all staff assigned in standards laid down by Client and Carillion Services
Deal with day to day problems and report to Security and Car Park Manager
Establish and monitor performance of shift staff by area checks and training
Review staffing levels and compile rotas / shift plans Participate in disciplinary and other staffing matters in line with Company policy
Inform Security and Car Park Manager of training needs and action where appropriate
Conform and enforce company legal, health and safety requirements Carry out company bookwork as appropriate
