Function Overview:
To develop and manage Supply Chain relationships, processes and procedures at both Work Winning and contract delivery stages. To provide the Business with a safe Supply Chain that delivers competitive advantage.
Purpose of Role:
Business strategy has defined that Supply Chain will be managed across Transport through a Head of Supply Chain. Working with the MD’s and the Heads of Supply Chain in the other BG’s the Head of Supply Chain will strategically manage the Supply Chain to deliver competitive advantage in its chosen markets using safe suppliers and ‘best in class’ processes and procedures.
Key Role Objectives:
The areas of accountability of the role including business objectives, leadership and customer interfaces:
- Identify enquiry packages, prepares and issues. Able to source and
apply appropriate procurement routes
- Applies Category Management strategy, working with the Category
Managers to achieve this. Complies with all corporate Supply Chain
processes & procedures
- Carries out quotation analysis, evaluation and selection of vendors,
presents Tender Reviews / Recommendation Reports to Project
Management Teams
- Leads subcontract and major supply pre-let meetings. Prepares and
places significant subcontract and major material supply orders.
Manages and closes out strategic tender and contract negotiations.
Closes out Subcontract documentation
- Support to the Supply Chain Work Winning function as required, also
drafts Supply Chain submission documents for prequalifications and
tenders (where applicable)
- In consultation with a Project team, prepares Supply Chain Strategy
and Implementation Plan at both work winning and project delivery
stage. Prepares, manages and co-ordinates the Tender Event
Schedule/Procurement Programme. Expedites quotes and deliveries,
solves problems in Subcontract/Supply Management
- Achieves targets set by Supply Chain Manager / Head Of Supply
Chain, prepares and presents reports in a timely & accurate manner
- Contributes to the training and development of reporting individuals.
Monitors Vendor performance. Increases performance levels
