Key Responsibilities
· Programming – To develop, maintain and support programs. Primary focus will be Windows applications
· Testing & Quality Assurance - To ensure program functionality /application integration meets customer expectations and company quality standards
· Conceptualisation & Technical Design – contribute to the overall technical architecture of Windows development solutions
· Communication – ensure a good level of teamwork, highlighting issues in good time and proactively suggesting solutions to resolve problems
· Support – Assist with resolution of technical problems
· Work Organisation – Effective prioritisation and meeting deadlines
· Individual Development – Take ownership of personal development
· Technical/Commercial Knowledge – Maintain knowledge of current development tools, relevant integration components, CDL applications, programming standards and company issues
Skills and Experience
Essential
· Experienced Microsoft Visual Basic developer, min 2 years – prime focus for the role
· Experienced Delphi developer & knowledge of C++ or Java – secondary focus for the role
· Crystal Reports
· ADO
· Good communication skills
· Experience of working in a development team
· Strong desire to produce high quality software to agreed timescales
Desirable
· Experience of Object orientated application development
· Knowledge and understanding of XML & SQL
· Experience of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL server, Microsoft Access and Oracle
· Experience of integrating Microsoft Office with applications
· Experience of working in a software house environment
· Ability to be self motivated
· Positive team player, supporting colleagues and making improvement suggestions
