THE WORK

The London corporate practice handles a very wide range of work including:-

- mergers and acquisitions

- takeovers

- private equity

- new issues

- rights issues and secondary issues

- joint ventures

- group reorganisations, demergers and hive-downs

- advisory work

The professional support lawyer's role is recognised as an important and valued one at Clifford Chance. This specific role includes:

- responsibility for creating, updating and managing allocated template (standard forms),

documents and practice notes

- advisory work for the transactional lawyers both in London and international offices

- gathering and disseminating know-how

- participating in the education programme for transactional lawyers

- producing client communications

EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will be a qualified lawyer with at least 3 years post qualification fee earning experience from a top City or leading provincial firm. We are particularly interested in candidates with an interest in and high level experience of the core company law areas, which underpin transactional and advisory work - such as directors' duties, corporate governance, meetings, rights of shareholders, changes in share capital, company constitutional issues and company law reform including the areas covered by the current White Paper. The role includes a significant client communications aspect and we are looking for interest and experience in that area. We would also encourage applicants who have previous PSL experience but this is not essential. It is imperative that you are committed to PSL work.

You will also have an excellent academic background. You will be a highly effective communicator (both orally and in writing) and have strong drafting skills, have good attention to detail with strong organisational skills and be proactive and committed to providing a first class service to the lawyers in our practice area.
