An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a mid - senior level lawyer in our Environment & Planning Group. You should have 3-5 year's post qualification experience in a leading UK or Commonwealth firm, ideally in a mixed environment/ planning role. We will consider lawyers with no planning experience, but environment experience is essential
THE WORK
Lawyers in the group work on a wide range of non contentious and contentious Environment & Planning work including:
Contaminated Land - Specialist advice on the workings of contaminated land regimes and the protection against or management of associated liabilities.
Corporate Transactions - Advising on environmental interests and structuring risk allocation within corporate transactions.
Energy Projects - Advice on the environmental, planning and permitting aspects of energy projects and power plants, including dealing with regulators, negotiating planning agreements, environmental liability and changes to the law.
Environmental Auditing and Due Diligence - Providing expert advice on environmental auditing and due diligence.
Environmental Insurance - Advice on the legal aspects of environmental insurance, including risk definition, claim litigation, insurance policies and other associated risk transfer structures.
Environmental LDR and Claim Management - advice on structuring, optimising and steering environmental claims and conducting litigation.
Environmental Operational Permitting and Reporting - Advice on environmental permitting and associated reporting obligations.
Financial Transactions and Lenders Liability - Advising financial institutions and insolvency practitioners on how to minimise the risks of exposure to environmental liabilities and the value of their security.
Health and Safety - Advice on all aspects of health and safety law.
Legislative and Regulatory Advice and Compliance - Providing legislative and regulatory advice across a range of environmental, health and safety, planning and product liability issues.
Liability Review and Liability Structuring - Environmental liability reviews and innovative approaches to structuring and mitigating identified and unidentified liabilities.
Nature Conservation - Advice on how to implement development projects while respecting protected nature conservation interests.
Planning - Working with developers, businesses and public authorities to find practical and commercial solutions to their planning needs, including advising on planning applications; section 106 agreements, compulsory purchase, highway issues, environmental assessment; public inquiries and judicial review.
Product Safety and Liability - Advice on all environmental law issues concerned with product liability, labelling and advertising.
Real Estate Transactions - Advising on environmental and planning aspects of real estate developments, transactions and investments.
Waste Management - Advice on all waste management matters.
