| Description |
This is one of the oldest cottages in the village. Reputedly one of only three to have survived the great fire of Metheringham of 1599 which otherwise completely destroyed the village including the Church. It is my ex office now sympathetically restored and refurbished to make bow windowed stone and pantile roofed homely cottage of considerable character with beams which will appeal to the single person, cottageophiles, the more mature ( stairs and a height limitation of 5' 6" applies in part ! ) possibly the investor or a first class pied a terre. Metheringham itself is a good sized village midway the City of Lincoln and the Market Town of Sleaford with bus and train links to both. With gas fired central heating it briefly consists of Entrance Hall, beamed oak fitted Kitchen, beamed 15ft Sitting Room with massive stone and old red brick fireplace with concealed lighting, display niches and Salt Hole ( Pretty unusual), small Utility room with WC off, open tread staircase to 16ft Bedroom with cosy beamed en-suite Shower Room. Easy care stone chip front garden with specimen conifers, holly tree and unrestricted street parking. There is already considerable local interest and it is not expected to remain long on the market due to it's history. A detailed brochure is available and can be Emailed or posted if requested. More information on village activities can be found at www.macla.co.uk Price now reduced and exceptional value.
